Never read this before. Don't know anything about it except it is some gothic/victorian romance/hate/ghost story. Not my cup of tea, but I am giving it a try. Hope I am as pleasantly surprised by it as I was by JANE EYRE.

The characters in this story are all selfish, mean, and brutal... how can this lead to a redeeming conclusion? Maybe it doesn't. Took 50 pages just to get the family tree down. Tough beginning, but moving along ok now.
