Em What do you think so far?

Etienne I like it. The novel starts with the crime having already been committed. The male main character is being held for murder. The plot so far is basically his interrogation . It has an existential feeling to it; that because of something he said without much thought , it started a whole chain of events. I don’t like the character, but I’m sure that was the author’s intent. I don’t especially like crime novels, but this has a psychological component making it interesting, much like the interrogation scenes in “ Crime and Punishment “. Plus there is suspense about what actually happened and by whom. The writing itself is good.

Em It sounds very interesting! The plot definitely sounds tense, and like you were thrown right into it from the beginning, but I’m glad there’s depth to it from the existential, psychological aspects. No, I know and appreciate that you’re not a huge fan of crime novels, but it’s good that you’re not supposed to like main character (adds layers, I think), and for it to compare the interrogation to scenes in “Crime and Punishment,” that’s great! 😊
