I'm having one of those bouts of being swayed by almost (the dystopias aren't calling me) every positive review I see. After days or weeks of not picking up what my friends are putting down. Weird when that hits out of nowhere. Does this happen to other people?

I put them all on the tbr and then later wonder why did I do that when I go to look at who's read it and what their reviews actually said.

Mine stay on the list until it exceeds 5000, and I have to prune a few so that I can keep rearranging the order of precedence according to arcane and ever-changing rules that I make up myself and then ignore according to whim. The most recent and extreme cull removed a lot that had been languishing for 20 years or more.
Oh, for the days when GoodReads let me keep 60,000 on my list and I could look back upon them fondly with no memory of adding them in the first place.
Been there.... I made a no more than 500 books in the tbr rule. Then I gave the husband his own shelves.

To keep the tv peace years ago I started getting him books from the library. He still hogs the tv in the evenings but the kids got time during the day. To keep track he has his own tbr and read shelves on my goodreads page. I shared another one of my non fic books with his cousin on Sunday. Doubt will see it again, so I rarely share my print books

I did eventually learn that books aren't loaned, they're gifted, no matter what either party says, but it took an embarrassingly long time.
