This was interesting and surprising. It answered some questions I had about characters in the first book, and explained their behaviours as well. I read this after the first book, and it had a really good shocking reveal, but having read it so early in the series I'm sure it spoiled a big plot point and may negatively affect my experience as I continue the series.
