I've dnf'd this author in the past because she writes a lot of soap boxing monologues ... It's not even that I disagree or not with what she's saying, I just feel like I'm being lectured and it's obnoxious. The story is pretty good though, thus far, so I think I'll continue, just needed to complain after the 5th or 6th soap box.

This is one of her earlier works and doesn’t seem to have some moral/ethical/cultural component (soap box monologues. I thought her ilari series was super heavy with the monologues. I couldn’t finish the 1st book in that series. I think Erin R Flynn has even more monologues and diatribes.
