Finished! From years of Torah Study I have a keen interest in the ancient Temple, but I had only read Torah commentary. This is an academic work with combines Bible with history with respect to the priests, Temple & vessels, and ritual. I learned a great deal.

When were the ark and the cherubim removed from the Holy of Holies, and what became of them? What was the difference between the Mishkan and the Tent of Meeting? Fascinating questions!

Interesting insight on how the ritual acts in the Temple fit together. On to the incense!

Academic study out of Hebrew Unversity in Jerusalem. The first section is about early altars, the bamot -- high places, the early sanctuaries, and, of course, the First Temple in Jerusalem. So far,so good. On to the priests!
