I feel like Yardley is getting a bum deal here. Treated poorly by the family, nobody cares if she's around or not, possibly some flavor of neurodivergent, and trying to deal maturely with some weird circumstances and providing consistent support and comfort. What a terrible person who should definitely not be the person who gets a HEA at the end of this romance.
