This is largely just classic pastiche, nothing original in it and a lot of retread of exactly what is tired in the Mythos world. That said, they are largely good older examples of Lovecraft pastiche from people like Ramsey Campbell, and they are good examples of the Ashton Clarke Smith perspective on the Mythos: as a cosmic battle between good and evil rather than Lovecraft’s nihilism. Only for hardcore fans.
