cliffhanger ending with the squad rolling up on them in the night

and one of them looming and drooling a mess above her

am i stupid or not understanding his explanation rn

bc he says their bosses ordered them to go to that nyan station to be decommissioned
to die

and then he says their big bad leader/pilot sabotaged the team and now the squad can’t leave earth

so why is he mad about this shit

bc it seems like axxol saved his squad from being put down for whatever shady reasons

even if they’ll be hunted down by mercs

can’t recall if this big bad leader axxol shows up in this series
if he becomes one of the mmcs

i remember so little past this book

i recall her jumping out the heli into kroktls mouth

them hiding and finding the squad

them hiding at some vacant vacation house

the medic and his needle spine dreads

a portal later?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

this decommissioning he’s telling her about rn though…

it’s taken me at least a month or two to make as much progress into this reread

i think i only started this entire series reread bc of the latest book that was out
and i obv needed a refresher

First three chapters were UTTERLY SHITE.
This has been a textbook example for shit writing you don’t want your book to have. 👏 ugh

Currently rereading this bc book three has been in my library gathering dust
I just want to get this over with I guess
Even knowing the writing is basically shit
So hopefully I can at least speed read this fairly easily…

annoyed with more than a few things
on top of some good scenes scattered about
but not enough

friggin cliffhanger and no clear indication of series progression, like is this going to drag on like the shara isador series
