I quite like the opening chapter as standard old school fantasy. Farmboy (girl) who gets powers, crazy old man who believes in the prophecy. School lesson is a bit of a clunky way of giving exposition, but it works. Quite interesting lore. Also the writer obviously knows a lot about horses. A bit long, but lets see where it goes
