The world is just stage dressing, shallow and as such there is no tension but superficialyl forced one by means of POV character thinking and doubting and thinking the same things along the plot of the book. This also means the characters are weak, why I don't understand why the romance is so lauded. If there's no plot there are no characters thus no characterisation.

Chapters end in one scene and the majority starts almost immediately after. Those that do this I don't see the point, even less when the MC thinks and summarizes or thinks on matters that we know of. This could've been edited.

ok lets be fair, my review up until now: the author has never learned by osmosis or not what a 3 act or any OTHER plot structure is. She doesn't write so much as a plot but a sequeway of scenes that need x amount of people in it and are strung sequentially.
