A vastly rich man dies in a holiday resort of gas poisoning. The facts and traces contradict the suicide theory, but the man´s life insurance company, The Indescribable, thinks otherwise and they send in their investigator, Miles Bredon to find out about the cause.
Nice story so far, wording is in an oddly 'antique' (1927) British English, so there is the one or other word to be learned for me.

A mystery written 1927 by a Roman Catholic British priest? Sounds interesting to me! To be read in parallel to the Swiss Studer mysteries from 1930s at a slower pace than ordinarily. This is the first one of a series of mystery novels starring a detective at an insurance company and his wife as investigators.
