This just isn't for me, and it hurts because I want to love it! I'm a southern black woman who lives for lovestruck stalkers, but this ain't it. The writing style is reminiscent of older works in an accented voice from simpler times, but I have a hard time seeing it as that and not just amateur.

The racial politics surrounding the town of Florin is interesting, but it's more stressful than the romance.
