So even in his cruel insanity Kilroy couldn’t hurt Bode as much as Bode hurt himself.

This world is quite complicated. Still trying to understand what keeps people going when their emotions are limited to apathy and indifference. Some self-preservation apparently has remained but how is this world even functioning?
Kilroy is a totally different thing though. Even the back stories reveal a sinister ambition in him that’s frightening.
