(Actually, this is now in the pages of the prequel.) Very cool, but the whole "we've no idea what's beyond" thing is shattered with a comment from Juliana.. Wonder if this will be folded into the series continuity...

"I hate him! I hate King Philip!" (Not particularly spoilery, as she's meh about daddy from page 1...) Um. Wouldn't she say "I hate my father"? There's a lot of clunky descriptive passages too, and yet the mythology and the characters are intriguing enough to keep me hooked.

Aaaaaaand here's the whiny part I'd heard about. There's a difference between a character that doesn't understand and/or like what she's got to do (Katniss Everdeen immediately comes to mind), and a character that simply whines her way through things. So far, Leila is listing to the latter. Hopefully she'll snap out of it soon, or this'll get tedious real quick.
