Max's name should have been "doormat"...it would have been far more appropriate.

“It’s not a date. Not really,” Max said. If some bitterness crept into his voice, he couldn’t really help it. “He needs someone to go with.”
“So he’s using you,” Lydia said.
“No.”
“That’s what it sounds like.”
“He’s a good guy,” Max said, crossing his own arms now.
Lydia rolled her eyes. She reached up and scratched her finely plucked brow just above the teal eye shadow. “So he’s a good guy who’s using you.”

“I’ll do it,” Max said.
Karson looked up, surprise and hope in his eyes. He pushed his glasses farther up the bridge of his nose with his finger. When he moved his hand away, they immediately fell back to where they were. God, it was adorable. Karson was adorable. When he wasn’t being a selfish asshole. Hell, even when he was.

I thought this was M/M, but apparently Max as no balls.

I keep waiting to find out Andrew beat Karson, or abused him in some way, because it makes absolutely no sense why Karson simply doesn't tell him to fuck off. It's a ridiculous plot.

No, he’d never be free. Not now. It was too late. He was in too deep with Max, no matter how hard he tried to backpedal, and Andrew reappearing in his life only made everything twenty times more complicated.

I honestly feel like I'm reading two different books...And neither is very good.
