Interesting social drunken behavior from our female protagonist's call to see a couple ladies, a one husband, off presumptuous celebratory champagne and brandy in the news that Napoleon had been defeated in battle. He becomes callous, hurtful, inconsiderate, accusatory in conversation, easily agitated at unexpected turn of events, apparently. Lots of damage/accidents happening here so far.

Interesting details of horse training and the character in the mischievous and rebellious and resentful wild child daughter, against her father's attention on his new French wife. Dabbling in since my local history book club covered the French Revolution in their last selection and meeting, though it's volume 13. I think I will want to dabble more from this author's voluminous, prolific, easy writing in the future.
