The more of Gideon the Ninth I read more I hate that stupid quote on the cover. "Lesbian necromancers explore a haunted gothic palace in space!" 1. If the lesbians are Gideon + Harrow only ONE of them is a necromancer. 2. It's in space only in the sense that Earth is also technically "in space". 3. It's entirety is not gothic this not Dracula's castle. Literally I could go on it's so maddening fuck OFF Charles.

Ian Salter 4. The quote feels so engineered to easily win over an audience by saying something punchy rather than.... IDK what but I get so annoyed by this type of blurb and I know I'm not alone! 5. "Explore" and "haunted" are such wiggly, vague words for what is actually happening (so far for me).

Anyway. I don't really care that much but I shake my head a bit about it from time to time.
