I didn't like the first story, Consumed. I couldn't get past the eye roll worthy, over dramatic dialogue and descriptions. But I thought the second story, Conned was pretty cute. I'm still not a short story lover, but I saw a lot of promise in the writing and the characters. On to the third!

I don't usually like them either, Catherine. The only author whose short stories I will actually seek out is Stephen King. Somehow his stuff is in a class by itself. With most short stories I've read I seem to be able to "see" how hard the author is working to make a story arc fit into a limited number of words. Maybe I'm just reading the wrong stories. :)
