Enough sci-fi thinkpieces for a while now. Next audiobook is this; a pretty straightforward military space opera with a gruff veteran getting slung into intergalactic politics through a mystery plot. I kind of expected casual sexism because I usually don't trust these kinds of books easily, but so far pretty much none of that! I'm kind of enjoying myself tbh

A side character in a same-sex marriage with kids, treated as completely normal! I mentioned I distrust gruff military sci-fi (mostly based on Hollywood movies, I'll be honest), but I am definitely warming up to this!
