Like sorry, who the FUCK do you think you are to slander mr darcy when you have not even the slightest INKLING of depth into Austen’s interpretation of romance in the 19th century and how pride and prejudice ISNT just a romance but a commentary on traditional women’s roles and classism and how there’s more meaning to life that these superficial roles

I will not STAND for Jane Austen slander AT ALL. It genuinely feels like Hannah grace scanned a fucking Wikipedia page on stereotypical degrees for book characters and when she decided Rory would be an English major, she would stand out by rebelling against classical authors and prose in the name of contemporary love and not having to hide behind a facade and instead being boastful and brash about adoration??

She’s an English major but she “freaking hate(s) poetry”??? Because “if you love someone just get to the point y’know?” This is a “freaking” abhorration. I’m not only disgusted by this book’s attempt to sway gen Z booktokers with its flippant prose and skin deep plot, but just the sole fact that a publisher looked at this book and thought it was worthy to print out in the first place.

I desperately believe that of me and Hannah grace were in the same room, I’d have an irresistible urge to punch her.
