Oh my god I started this book last night and Brennan NAILED the style on this. This reads like one of those "hey guys it's totally true" sea narratives from the 1800s except it's fun to read and (hopefully?) won't have an incredibly racist turn midway through. Also dragons.

Deborah Silvis You don't get to slam sea tales from the 19th Century until you've read MOBY DICK --- at least some passages from MD. The "butterless man" scene - best send up of middle management, written a century before cubicles were invented. OML -- and any scene with Queequeg
