Free Friday selection that has been on my bookshelf forever. I was unaware that this was a Christian read, but that isn't a problem. The problem is that I am two chapters in and I don't like how it's written. I'm trying to put my finger on what it is exactly.

Unrelated discussion, Jesus, Crime drama, attempt at romance, Side bar unwanted love affair related to crime drama, Prayer, Japanese tourists, Historic romance research, Church, Navajo history discussion, Southern cusine preparation, come to Jesus, more I-like-you-but-I-dont-know-why...Do these events and dialog serve to push these two together or take up pages in this book?

Could it be that I don't believe in the romantic connection? It feels forced, like there isn't a real reason for the two main characters to have interest in each other. They meet one time and suddenly there is "something"? Or am I asking for too much.
