Chapter 63, page 3 of 11. It's now reading like a Jane Austen novel. I'm going to have to actually read Mansfield Park, instead of just watching the movies (I've seen two diff. versions at least twice each).

Tomas is an ally; something Joel has never thought to seek. Tomas is not gay, not on ZFU, and the only other person who is willing to collaborate with Joel's perception of the days being broken up into irregular patches of time.

I think Finn is Joel's self-loathing; his shadow-self. Sean is an ass. He runs hot and cold--just as much as Joel dies--but I'm not sure what he represents. Perhaps he is supposed to be a representation/manifestation of other people's unfounded expectations of Joel based of incomplete/ limited data.
