God I had no idea what I was getting into.
I just finished "A House on the Plains" which is somehow one of the darkest stories I've read in weeks despite being a horror writer. In the story, a pair of mother and son serial killers basically move about the land. The realization of how brutal, and how horrifying, these two people are is so gradual and subtle that I actually had to actually start over. A+. Damn.
