Here is the positive: this is a genuine page turner. the world build is rich and intricate - one can see Cassandra Clare spending many hours in this world to make it realistic, complete and complex - so far the plot feels a bit simplistic. So let’s see what comes next.
Also, I get vibes of the Prince and the Pauper and Esmeralda from the hunchback of Notre Dame.

Still true to being a page turner. Lin is probably my favorite character so far yet Kel’s story line is a tad more interesting.
It is a political intrigue all in all. And we’re getting a second story woven in with the land of Aran. And yes, I am fully rooting for Adassa!
What I am missing still is a greater exploration of the pantheon and why that matters. We’ll see!
