I wasn't expecting to have issues with this book so soon, page 8, and I'm already seriously considering putting it down. I understand the brain surgery joke was supposed to be something to get the dialog started and tell us that, yes, this girl works a lot and breeze right past it. But for someone who has had to face this, the joke fell flat.
