It is a beautiful and poignant novel about a girl's first period in a remote village in far western Nepal and the irony she faces. I felt a lot of pain while reading this book because there is still such a bad practice in Nepal, but I also wondered how a male writer could write about women's sadness, pain, physical and emotional changes?. Anyway very well written.
