Beginning and I'm already hooked. The writing feels it a bit 'younger' than Ready Player 1. I feel like the first chapter so far could be an exceptionally well written English final year of high school final exam short story response - but it is early pages and I expect the writing to become more nuanced and the characters given depth. The hooks in the first chapter have definitely snagged my interest!

I am now 2/3rds through the book and I still feel like I'm in the exposition phase. I hope that the last third of the book wraps it up well. I wouldn't say I've been disappointed so far but I keep expecting the book to surprise me and it hasn't as of yet.
