I quite enjoyed this first story in the collection. I really liked the town of Wiseman and Marta and Justin were likable characters. The mystery kept me guessing.

The Gunslinger Next Door

While I liked the ending of this one, this story just didn’t catch my attention like the other ones did. Alice was a bit of a busybody in my opinion and I really wasn’t sure what I thought of her. John, either, in that regard. I ended up liking them in the end, this story just wasn’t a favorite.

The Spinsters Next Door

Rachel’s story with her two elderly aunts was intriguing. Quite a mysterious air surrounds this young woman and I was very curious myself. I felt the story was carried along nicely with a nice, tidy little bow at the end. I also liked the male protagonist, Stephen Worth.
