How much does this author know San Francisco? I doubt there are knowledge due to the description of needing air conditioning because it is "too hot". I grew up in the Bay Area and there is no way you need air conditioning in San Francisco! Nor do you really need heat that much during the winter. May be a little, but you're not gonna be super cold.
