Backman does such an amazing job of developing his characters that you feel they are your own friends and loved ones. So it’s hard to read about everything they go through because you feel like you’re walking through it with them. 😭

I do love the bits about all the characters’ futures at least, that helped. But oof that hole in my heart is tough.
