It becomes more clear every day that I am out of my YA era but I want to like this for younger me so badly that I am reading it anyway. At least I managed to stop myself from buying it and went to the library instead

Not 100% sure what about this appeals to younger you But if you'd like a dark queer adult book that's also related to angels/christianity I'd recommend Angels Before Man :-)
