Still my same puzzle with Levinas trying to have his cake and eat it: if the other is not human (not a concept), then isn’t there a problem with ethics? You can’t both correct ethics for its conceptual violence on the other (because humanism), but keep the ethics afterwards too: do dogs have a “face”? I mean, what follows?
