Patti Smith is an excellent writer. I enjoy when she talks about her trips to cafes or recounts memories of her loved ones but a lot of her musings and references are pretentious and really abstract. Just like with A room of one’s own by Virginia Woolf, I’m not a fan of the stream of consciousness writing.
Basically, I want more memoir and less obscure musing.

Patti Smith is so intriguing and she makes me want to read this book more. Great prose - which always boosts my enjoyment in literature!
