Beautifully elaborated version of the stories of Genesis.
Who knew that Joseph was a narcissist and a tattle-tale?
Interspersed is the story of Abraham, the averted sacrifice. I especially liked the sections after Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt. It's a sensitive rendering of his maturing and becoming a competent adult, aware of the feelings of other people. I got tired, but slogged through the last bits.

I love thus book so much!
It's my second attempt reading it. The first time I didn't have the time to devote to it.
I love that the stories from Genesis are so well known (in my neck of the woods) that I can focus on the beautiful writing and translation.
