Let's face it, my leisure-reading life has been relatively nonexistent lately. However, that is not the only reason it is taking me longer than usual to finish read a book, specifically this one. This book is heavy and touches on a lot of topics that are heartbreaking and, for me, relatable. Sometimes you just have to take a break from staring at a mirror, because that's what this feels like.

"For a twenty-six-year-old male, spiritually castrating myself is a testament to determination to conquer and alter my sexual nature. If I don't feed it, it will weaken, and it will die. But after months of starving, the gay gremlin is alive, pissed, and hungry." Well, if that doesn't paint a picture, then I don't know what will!

I don't normally write reviews on faith-based books, mainly for personal reasons and the fact that I try to tread lightly on controversial topics. However, I may make an exception for this book when I'm finished, because I believe books like this are important.
