"At the same time, hearing him say that gave me an ache. He wouldn't have me! For a whole week!" (pg 57) This for me is an AH-HA moment because it makes me realize how much Melody really cares about her family. She looks at her family more as her friends, and I do the opposite where I see my friends more as my family. I thought it was something cool to subtly relate to and really made me think in general.

I keep wondering how much mobility Melody has, she can swing around her arms and legs that are like noodles but she has no strength and can't walk or talk. This produces tough questions.

I was surprised to see that Melody doesn't like everything at camp, there's also things she doesn't like about it. This is an AH-HA moment because it made me realize this camp isn't perfect.

I was very surprised about Melody's reflection to her home life, when she thinks about school even though she loves learning she only thinks about her horrible peers instead of anything else in school, this was an AH-HA moment for me because you would think someone who loves learning would also love school but this isn't the case.

I noticed that the author uses onomatopoeia in the book a lot. This is an AH-HA moment for me cause I realized that Melody must really rely on hearing and sight since the things she can do are so limited.

I was really surprised when Melody was able to make a basket in a short basketball hoop. It took a lot of tries but I think not only is Melody getting mental guidance in life but also discovering her physical abilities.

Melody is never being put down at camp. In the previous book about Melody in Out of my Mind everyone assumed that Melody could do nothing and was constantly putting her down but at camp in this book it is the exact opposite, this was an AH-HA moment for me.

I was very surprised that Melody's crush also has synesthetes (seeing colors with sounds) considering how rare the ability is and wondered if this was some form of symbolism the author put in to show similarities or cleverness. For me this brought on difficult questions.

An AH-HA moment came when I read about the playground with Melody and her friends. I realized that none of those girls had ever gone to a playground before, it makes me wonder why more playgrounds aren't specially designed for kids like Melody.

I had an AH-HA moment when I realized that the 4 girls including Melody don't like the counselors always being around them. i thought having adults would make them feel safer but instead they all related that it was annoyingly like home.

I noticed an AH-HA moment when Melody kept referring to her as smart showing she might be a little full of herself. Although she is very sweet and doesn't brag in her inner thoughts she often thinks very highly of herself and how smart she is.
