In one chapter Joyce goes from this eloquent sentence: "...one must have a cold constitution and a frigid genius not to be rejoined by this freshest news of her confinement since she had been in such pain through no fault of hers." ...to this complete nonsense: "Kind Kristyann will yu help, yung man hoose friend tuk bungalo kee to find flais whear to lay crown off his hed 2 night."
