Bad sleeping night. But that did mean I got some chapters in at weird hours

It was okay. Might give the second book a chance when it comes out; the characters and concepts are interesting, plot progression is a little meh. Review later

Not gonna lie, I'm getting progressively more disappointed with this. Which is a shame, because I enjoy the set up and Remy's a solid POV character. It just feels like a lot of the plot points aren't allowed to just happen, they have to be overexplained and beaten to death in a way that somehow makes them feel less intuitive. Fingers crossed for a good ending, though

Not as far as I wanted to get, but eyes are starting to blur so... Time to try to sleep. Hopefully it goes better than last night

Probably shouldn't read while tired. Let's see how much backtracking I have to do when I pick this up again tomorrow

Breezing through this with relative ease and, yeah, I think mist if these characters are genre-aware. There are so many odd comments and asides where it seems like they're saying, "Of course this happened, we're in a vampire story!"

I don't know how to explain this, but the characters seem almost genre-aware in this. It's a little odd but not necessarily bad. We'll see if it keeps happening and how it holds up if it does

For a long time before looking more into this and checking it out a few weeks ago, I thought it was either modern fantasy or near future sci-fi/fantasy. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. I know plenty of people who have read it and spoken about it, I don't know why my brain filled in the blanks of the info they gave me like that
