I like Bea and I'm a fan of Nisha, but the whole social scene is a big bummer. It does create an inner conflict, for Bea and adversity for Nisha, which is good for the story. Still, the fact that they are both caught up in it is depressing. Still, the book is absolutely addictive.

The story is really bogged down in petty mean girl politics. Honestly, initially it worked until they discovered their mission. Now, it seems to diminish the suspense and leaves the reader to trudge through page after page of the least interesting characters unoriginal musings and jealous spats.
