Excellent book that goes into great detail re the reign of one of the most underrated emperors. Really enjoyed it: goes into a lot of the peripheral goings-on in the empire as well as: his explanation of religion in the ancient world was excellent. And he explains Diocletian's response to monetary inflation as well as anyone has (really hard to visualize how this worked, though!). Recommended.
