I love princess and her guard stories, but this one is not doing it for me. There have been a lot of time jumps, especially early on, that really messed up the flow. And I sort of ship the two MCs, but they’ve already gotten together, even though we have a lot of novella left, and it felt very anticlimactic to me. Probably just a preference thing. We’ll see how the rest of the novella goes!

I’d give the novella three stars. It was all right but nothing that really caught my attention. I wish it hadn’t taken up so much of the collection.
But, I adored the first part of “Marriage of Inconvenience.” It gives me Cinder vibes with the mechanic and Star Wars vibes with pod racing; plus, the setting is really cool and the romance is adorable. Excited for part two.
