Some early thoughts: the momentum's not the same as Hatchets, but to be fair, my first read of Hatchet a few years ago felt the same way.

I thought I marked my progress as page 88, then I saw that my bookmark was on page 85, and I was like "Whoa! i think I'm going backwards" haha
Unrelated to this, today I remembered how when I was younger, I used to be so vicious against people who didn't want to work together haha
I felt we all had expectations that could be met, and no one deserved special treatment haha
Growth and development for the win!

85 pages in and I think I figured out the theme to the book.
I noticed that "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen seems to be about adjusting and overcoming extreme odds.
"Echo" on the other hand, seems to be about self reflection and personal growth.

Today I remembered some advice that was given to me by one of my teachers from around 5th-8th grade. I remembered that for me to improve in my writing, I had to make it my own, not worry about writing in a way where I seem to try and make the reader know I read the book
Writing my review for "Guts by Gary Paulsen", I couldn't write a fluid review, and instead wrote a labored review
Why cant I write? lol exhaustion?
