I've been on the computer with Firefox. I just tried it on my phone with Safari and I'm having the same problem. I tried to sign in on the computer with Chrome but after multiple tries I can't get the captchas right and cannot sign into Goodreads there. *sigh* I hope that it's a temporary glitch!!!

Fine for me too, Lisa. I'm on either Safari or Chrome.

Thanks, Caroline, for letting me know. Now I am on Chrome on my phone so I’m going to try from here.

This is really scary and it’s disheartening since so far I’m the only one with the issue. I cannot like a review from the book’s page but I can read the reviews. When I go to the review from someone’s review list, I can get to their review but there is no text review at all. Obviously something is very wrong, but I can’t figure out what and as far as I can tell I’m not having any other problems with Goodreads or any other site on the Internet either on my phone or on the computer.

If this bug or whatever it is persists past this weekend, I guess I’ll have to ask for help but I’m really hoping it’ll correct itself or other people will report it or both.

Goodreads hasn’t updated their known issues page since September/October 2023.

The problem is persisting. I can’t like any reviews, at least for London.

No. I know I should and should trash cookies too BUT it's now from 2 devices and 3 browsers and I'm not sure doing that would help in this case. I might try again to sign into Chrome o the computer. The Captchas are so hard to read it's ridiculous. I see there is an option to hear the letters & numbers so I might try that next time.

This is crazy. I just did a new sign in on Chrome on the computer (no Captcha needed this time) and I have the same problem. This time with two friends I went to their reviews (text reviews on the book page but no text review when I go there directly) and liked their reviews even though the review filed is blank. I'm not willing to do that with community members at this point.

I guess the next thing I check is if the problem on my end is for just one book or all books.

I get so down when things go wrong here.

Good news, bad news. I was just able to like reviews for another book. The bug/issue/glitch seems to be confined to reviews for London by Edward Rutherfurd. I guess that's good news. It's still irritating though.

Laura, I'm actually not certain. it's with that book and isn't with another book. I haven't tried a bunch of books yet. I reserve Monday afternoons to read all the reviews that I can from the previous week. I guess I'll learn more tomorrow. I might have some time today to read some reviews so maybe I'll learn more then.

Thanks, Ann. I'm still having the problem with at least the one book. I've tried the computer with the Firefox and Safari browsers and my phone with the Chrome and Safari browsers. I've tried trashing cookies and everything I can think to do but the problem persists. I spend several hours every Monday afternoon into early evening reading reviews. I plan to do that today and I hope that the problem isn't more widespread and is just for the one book.

Thanks, Ann. I've actually experienced many bugs here for a long time. They don't usually seem to get fixed. I hope the site will eventually have fewer glitches but I'm not optimistic.

Bren, No, I just tried again. It seems to be for just one book and I don't know why. I'm glad to see you here. I hope that you are doing okay!
