In the last part of the book jay finally gets his chance to surf Mavericks. He is super excited and gets 2 ginormous waves. Frosty tells jay that he loves him like a son. Jay was very happy to hear this from his idol. Kristy who jay loved so much told jay that she loves him also and she knew that jay was the one from the beginning. The last part of the book is a very happy and exciting ending.

I can relate to the main character of the book jay because we both love surfing and are in love with the ocean. We both also have blond hair and like to surf big waves. We are very much alike and I can relate to Jay very well. The thing that isn't relatable about us is that he is very poor and has to go through lots of hard times. And I have a life where I don't have to go through many tough times.

I chose to read this book because I love surfing and this book is about surfing. I watched the movie a long time ago and then I just found this book at my house. This book has lived up to my expectations so far. It has lived up to my expectations because it is just like the movie and the movie over exceeded my expectations. This is my favorite movie I have ever watched.
