I’m taking a break from my other book to see if maybe “third time’s the charm” here, or if I’m just not meant to read this one… It is attention-grabbing and well-written, and I don’t doubt for a second that if I don’t finish this one this time, it will absolutely be ME, not the book…. We shall see….

I don’t remember reading this at all, and evidently I didn’t finish it the first time round. Movie was good though, and made me want to give it a (second
?!) chance. Let’s see how round two goes..

So pretentious. Ani is a spoiled little brat. But, finally, at 58%, I've come to the meat of the story.. Let's see if it picks up.

This book is beginning to get PAINFULLY pretentious. I'm also not seeing - at all - how its in any way comparable to "Gone Girl". I suppose I'll keep reading for that reason alone. Is there any similarity, or was that just some brilliant marketing bullshit??
