I honestly have no idea how this inspired the show. What insipid drivel.

Went on a roadtrip and thought I might give this a shot via audiobook. Wow is this Elena annoying. And every other character is essentially the worst parts of Caroline. Entertaining to see what things changed, but this is honestly a slog. Will probably remain a DNF

Started re-watching the show a week ago and thought I would give the books a try. Thank god they changed alot when they did their adaptation because this Elena is an annoying queen bee-bitch sort of character. Probably will not end up finishing this. Also I cheated and googled and apparently she doesn't pick Damon in the series, so really why even read it? Lol...
