This started bad. The guy tried to come as witty and it comes off as sarcastic stupid with his boss, his backstory is such a cliche of "I traveled to find myself and look how old school I am" that he only missed being a navy seal, and so far, the infodumping had been so badly presented that I'm this close to just shot the book, because holy cow, how does he speak without saying anything.
