Royko was awesome. I didn't "discover" him until high school; and this is a chance to catch up. The satire and wit is razor sharp. It's full of political, racial, religious barbs from the bygone era of the late '60's. A turbulent time in the country and in Chicago. Just finished reading a column he wrote titled, "Just Like the Old Country." Brilliant! The columns on hippies are hilarious.
